Practice

Clinical Practice

Direct care in four languages, and what the clinic itself made necessary to build.

Appointments

Evidence-based care at two Harvard Medical School affiliates, in person and via telehealth.

Cambridge Health Alliance

Clinical Psychologist, Department of Psychiatry. Evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy, in person and via telehealth, to a predominantly immigrant caseload — certified to provide care in Portuguese, French, Spanish, and English. Part of the Primary Care Behavioral Health Integration (PCBHI) team.

McLean Hospital

Clinical Psychologist, School Consultation Service. Consultation to school districts, and psychoeducational materials developed for schools and communities.

From Clinic to Science

Gaps met in practice, answered with new measures, trainings, and partnerships.

Built in the Clinic

Assessment 2025 – Present

Bariatric Psychological Assessment

The pre-surgical psychological interview lacked measures of eating psychopathology. Redesigned the clinical interview guide with departmental leadership, adding validated and culturally relevant measures, and embedding research components that allow investigation of binge-eating mechanisms and their relation to post-surgical outcomes. The Estimation Error Index is one of the solutions developed for this gap.

Intervention 2025 – Present

Intercultural Training for Primary Care Clinicians

Proposed and led a training on culturally sensitive psychotherapy for PCBHI clinicians serving a predominantly immigrant caseload — addressing the gap between evidence-based protocols and the linguistic and cultural realities of the people receiving them. Builds on the finding that translated screening instruments can carry systematic measurement error (Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry, 2025).

Intervention 2025 – Present

Family Health Residency Program

An international partnership between Tiradentes University (Brazil) and Cambridge Health Alliance that trains primary care teams to implement evidence-based mental health screening and treatment protocols. Developed the eating and weight disorders module.
